Short version: Google Analytics counts visits only if you say yes. Otherwise, the only information this site collects is what you send me.

The contact form. When you send an inquiry, your name, email, and message are stored by Netlify, which hosts this site, and a copy is emailed to me so I can reply. I use it only to answer you and to plan any work we agree on. I don't sell it, share it, or add you to a mailing list.

Google Analytics, if you say yes. The first time you visit, a small box asks whether I can count your visit. If you choose “That’s fine,” your browser loads Google Analytics, which sets cookies (their names start with _ga) so it can tell a return visit from a new one. Google then receives the pages you view, how you got here, your approximate location (city level), your device and browser type, and a few actions: sending the contact form (the topic you picked, never your message), opening a photo or a video, and clicking a link to another site. Google Analytics doesn’t store your IP address. I’ve turned off Google signals and ad personalization, nothing is linked to advertising, and Google keeps the detailed records for 14 months (summary reports, like total visits per month, stay longer).

If you say no. Choose “No thanks,” or just ignore the box, and Google Analytics never loads and no cookies are set.

Changing your mind. Use “Analytics choice” at the bottom of any page, or . Switching to no removes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. Your answer is kept in your browser’s storage so you aren’t asked on every page; clearing this site’s data resets it.

A count of the answers. Each time someone answers that question, this site adds one to a daily tally of yeses and nos. It stores those two numbers and nothing about who answered.

Videos. Most films play from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, and nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Once a video plays, YouTube may set its own cookies. The shorter clips are hosted here and involve no one else.

Fonts and images are served from this site, not from third parties.

Server logs. Like any web host, Netlify briefly records technical details of requests (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure.

Your choices. To have your messages deleted, ask through the contact form and I'll remove them.
